When we think of love and Valentine’s day we often think of mushy cards, flowers and balloons.
The first time I went to Honduras (nearly six years ago), the verse we prayed over the trip was 1 John 3:16. It was then that I began to learn what true love is.
We know what love is because Jesus Christ gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16
True love was demonstrated to us by Christ, and we are called to share it with the world.
POI is a picture of that, as dedicated staff members head to dangerous neighborhoods each day to teach the children that are forgotten by their communities. Through working with POI I have watched teams come selflessly to serve in Honduras, kids who save their allowance each month to sponsor a child, and families treating these children thousands of miles away as their own.
Today, on this day we celebrate love, we want thank each of you for sharing the love of Christ to the people of Honduras.
